This concept has been created by Create Africa South in conversation with Imagine Chicago and the World Health Organisation.

What is Ubumama ?

Ubumama is a project dedicated to bringing mother’s stories of giving birth in the developing world into public view, to honour the lives of mothers and to increase commitment to saving the lives of mothers dying in childbirth.

White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood (WRA) is an international coalition of diverse organizations and individuals who have come together to promote increased public awareness and to develop and implement plans of action to make pregnancy and childbirth safer for all women and newborns in developing and developed countries.
