The Tito Zungu Trust Fund

Tito Zungu was a talented artist and humble farmer who lived in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal. He produced a series of meticulous and painstakingly crafted drawings that created an intellectual and formal anagram of his imaginary world during the trauma and fragmentation of the Apartheid Wars. His wishes were that young South Africans would understand and learn to respect the importance of culture and creativity and the role that it plays in South Africa

The Fund provides subsidies to gifted South African students in the arts. Priorities will be: recruiting students, obtaining scholarship, fundraising and subsidy opportunities with educational institutions in South Africa and abroad. The Fund also promotes and markets creative products produced by untrained gifted South Africans.

Artists supported through the Tito Zungu project are amongst others:

Siphiwe Zulu

The Trust has made it possible for Siphiwe to study at a top tertiary institution and has introduced him to the appropriate institutions which have enabled him to have a number of successful exhibitions. He also has been able to sell a number of works through a friend of the organisation in the US. Siphiwe suffers from glucoma and the urgency for him to exhibit is felt by all who know him.
